New Star Children’s Theatre Proudly Presents: Defying Gravity. An original production written by New Star alumni Melanie Thompson. What would happen if Alice (of Wonderland) took a wrong turn down the rabbit hole and mistakenly ended up in Munchkinland AFTER the Wicked Witch has melted? Unrestrained without their evil boss, the Flying Monkeys are causing all kinds of trouble terrorizing the citizens of Munchkinland. Glinda, the Scarecrow and all of the Munchkins are at their wits end and need some help to stop the madness! Hoping this newcomer is their savior, the leaders of Munchkinland convince Alice to help them solve the Flying Monkey problem. Alice soon realizes she too will need help to reign in the Flying Monkeys and proceeds to enlist new friends who aren’t afraid of flying high themselves: A computer geek, a group of mischievous fairies, a daredevil trapeze troupe, and a pirate queen who sails a magic ship through the sky with her salty pirate side-kicks. It’s a unique crew, but perfectly suited for tackling the chaos of Flying Monkey gone wild! Assembling this unique crew is just the beginning of the adventure! Join us to see how it ends!
