New Star is Offering Programs Through Folsom Parks & Recreation Department

We are proud to announce that New Star Children's Theatre is now offering programs through the Folsom Parks & Recreation Department. Rehearsal are at the Folsom Sports Complex located at 66 Clarksville Road, Folsom, CA 95630.  All performances will be at the Folsom Sports Complex. 
 
New Star Children's Theatre will continue to welcome all children interested in performing in musical theatre offering instruction in acting, dancing and singing. We will also continue to offer homeschool programs and remain an approved vendor for South Sutter Charter School and Visions Education. The Folsom branch of New Star Children's Theatre will be directed by Kayla Hendry. 
 
The 2017 Folsom Fall Programs will include:
 
"Sing" (Ages 10-18) - Wednesdays September 13th through December 6th (no class on November 22nd) 6:30 - 7:30 PM - A program focusing on vocal performances with current pop and musical theatre songs. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be on a "Disney show" or "Glee" then look no further. Come be a part of a singing class that will rock your socks off! Children will learn to harmonize, sing acapella, do beats, etc. while performing notable pop tracks and musical theatre numbers. Children will also work on breathing techniques and vocal warm ups. Some simple movement will be incorporated into musical numbers. All particiapants will need black dance shoes, binders and pencils. There will be a recital at the end of the session.
Tuition Fee is $207 / $200 resident discount. In addition to the program tuitiion there will be a $50 materials fee payable to the instructor on the first day of class for the lyric sheets, rehearsal CD's and "Sing" t-shirts. Performance outfit to be discussed - not included.
 

"Triple Threat" (Ages 9-18) - Wednesdays September 13th through December 6th (no class on November 22nd) 5:00 - 6:30 PM - A program focusing on all three aspects of the musical theatre performer, acting, singing and dancing. Come be a part of the ultimate musical theatre experience. Children will learn and expand on any previous knowledge in this class will strengthen their singing, dancing and acting skills. All participants will learn to sing or dance as both a "lead", and as a "backup" or "supporting" perforner, they will work on performing in a group, they will build self-confidence and make friendships that will last a lifetime. Music will focus on the musical theatre and pop genre. Kids of all skill levels are welcome!

Tuition Fee is $232 / $225 resident discount. In addition to the program tuition a $50 materials fee payable to the instructor on the first day of class for lyric sheets, CD's and Triple Threat t-shirts. Performance outfit to be discussed - not included.

Home School Programs:

 
"Home School Elementary Level" (Ages 6-10) - This fun class will give children the opportunity to help create characters and briing them to life on stage!
 
"Ghosts, Goblins and Goosebumps!" - Wednesdays September 13th through October 18th, 1:30 - 3:00 PM. Tuition Fee is $127 / $120 resident discount
 
"Just Another Fairytale" - Wednesdays October  25th through December 6th (No class on November 22nd), 1:30 - 3:00 PM. Tuition Fee is $127 / $120 resident discount
 
 
"Homeschool Middle School and High School Level" - This performance-based program blends science, art, history, literature, music, and more. Each session will have a separate theme, enabling students to participate as manyt times as they would like. Students will be given the opportunity to choose and develop the character they will portray and also participate in group musical numbers and scenes. Students will be expected to research their character/theme at home and be prepared when they come to class.
 
"The Life and Adventures of a Literary Hero" (Ages 11-14) - Mondays September 11th through October 23rd (no class on October 9th), 9:30 - 11:30 AM.
(Ages 14 - 18) - Monday September 11th through October 23rd (no class on October 9th) 1:00 - 3:00 PM.
Tuition Fee is $147 / $140 resident discount
 
"They're Playing My Song (Musical Icons Through the Ages)" (Ages 11-14) Mondays October 30th through December 11th (no class on November 20th), 9:30 - 11:30 AM. 
(Ages 14-18) - Mondays October 30th through December 11th (no class on November 20th) 1:00 - 3:00 PM.
